How to read a stock quote

Last price, change %, open/high/low, and volume what each field is telling you.

Last (or LTP) is the most recent traded price in the session. Change % usually compares that last print to LDCP.

Open is the first trade of the day; high and low show the session range so far. A stock near its high with rising volume can look different from one drifting near the low on thin volume.

Volume counts shares traded. A sharp move on very low volume may not stick; stronger volume often signals more participants agreeing on the new price.
